IN-GROUND POOLS
Installation of an Inground Pool
You’re not alone if you’ve been pondering constructing an inground pool. More homeowners are considering installing an inground pool in their backyard than ever before. The desire to improve the backyard and create an outdoor living place that the entire family can enjoy has never been higher than it is right now. When choosing a pool builder to do your inground pool installation, look for a business that offers excellent communication, high-quality construction, and completes work on schedule and under budget.
Why Choose South Texas Custom Pools for an Inground Pool?
When faced with a large purchase decision such as an outdoor remodeling job of this nature. Building an inground pool is a complicated home improvement project that should be handled by qualified professionals who know how to see around corners and operate within budgetary and time constraints. Homeowners in San Antonio who want a luxury pool construction experience generally choose us because we deliver the best value for their pool purchase dollar, not because we are the cheapest quote.
How Long Does It Take to Build an Inground Pool?
Most inground pool projects take between 8 and 10 weeks to complete from beginning to end. Weather, permitting, HOA permissions, financing, and other circumstances may cause the timetable to be extended in some cases. We work closely with homeowners, custom home builders, and general contractors to deliver a premium outdoor living product they can be proud of. In most inground pool projects, however, construction takes 8-10 weeks as a general rule.
POOL DESIGN
Our 3D Pool Design Process Brings A Pool Concept To Life
There are no boundaries to what you may do with your pool and landscaping to create the backyard of your dreams. Our in-house landscape designer is committed to transforming your backyard into an oasis, allowing you to enjoy life outside in luxury and flair. We pay attention to our customers’ needs and make recommendations for ideas and solutions based on your particular preferences, home architecture, and budget.
We are not a one-size-fits-all pool company, and we endeavor to make each project unique and personalized for you. From personal experience, we know that what works for one individual may not work for the next.
Step 1: The Pool
What are the backyard dimensions, and what size, shape, and style of pool is suitable for the backyard? The house’s architecture and your unique taste
What is your preferred shape? A smaller plunge pool, perhaps? Symmetrical, (rectangle or circle) Curvilinear (Curves or organic shape)
Step 2: Pool Features
Do you want a fire or a water feature?
Is it possible to automate the pool? Is there a heated pool? Is there a robo-cleaner? Is it possible to use LED lighting?
Maybe a tanning ledge or some swim jets?
Step 3: Pool Location & Surround
Are you concerned about the backyard’s views and privacy? Is it necessary to install privacy screens and fencing?
What is the greatest location for the pool? Is there a requirement for a retaining wall due to a slope or elevation change?
What kind of pool coping do I want, and what kind of pavers do I want to use to surround the pool and patio?
Step 4: Cabanas, structures, and landscaping elements around the pool
Is it necessary to have a pool cabana with a bar window? Another structure to consider is a pavilion with an outdoor fireplace. What about a canopy with LED lighting on a pergola?
We can assist you in the design and construction of a variety of structures for ideal outdoor living environment. If you enjoy cooking, we can design a custom outdoor kitchen for you, complete with a BBQ, pizza oven, and even a draught refrigerator.
Step 5: Estimate the price and scope of a pool and landscape design
After our initial consultation and the completion of the wish list, the designer/representative can provide you with a price for the design fee. The cost will vary based on whether we are just building a pool or designing a whole back yard pool and landscape. It will also differ according to the degree of customization of the pool and landscape features. The plan might be divided into two parts, the first of which is a design concept and the second of which is a thorough working plan. If you accept the design quote, you will be required to sign a design service agreement before the design process can begin.
GUNITE POOL SERVICE
Gunite/shotcrete Pool Construction
A specialist gunite/shotcrete pump truck is called in for the application of gunite/shotcrete. To shoot gunite/shotcrete, specialty equipment is required to provide high-quality results. We produce a considerably stronger shell with more cement since it is shot dry with water added in at the nozzle.
· The gunite/shotcrete process isn’t prone to shrinkage cracks like wet mix.
· The gunite/shotcrete process doesn’t have to be shot within 1 hour.
· The gunite/shotcrete process doesn’t get cold joints and potential crack spots.
· The gunite/shotcrete process can net a psi up to 20% higher than wet mix!
· Gunite/shotcrete is used on the space shuttle launch pad. When NASA used shotcrete, it melted and disintegrated (they’ve done it).
Any worker “with a cheap pump” can do shotcrete, but to do gunite, there is extensive equipment and expense. Professional pool contractors use gunite/shotcrete because of all the advantages and performance.
POOL CONSTRUCTION
The process of building a pool can be challenging. Because the nature of professional construction and specialized tradespeople involved in constructing a genuinely high-quality inground pool necessitates selecting a pool construction business that can deliver, hiring a pool construction company that can deliver is essential.
The Process
Step 1 – Meet for an introduction and orientation.
It’s time to arrange the installation and set up a pre-construction meeting once the pool permit has been approved. During this discussion, we’ll go over our strategy for finishing your project as quickly as feasible. We go over the overall building procedure with you so that you are informed of what will be happening. Your project is allocated to a crew of specialised tradesmen. Certain permit criteria must be met before and during the project, such as consulting with the bylaw officer. Throughout the process, we take care of your property and leave a clean work site at the conclusion of each day.
Step 2 – Site preparation
Prior to the excavation, a clear path for machinery to access the backyard must be constructed. This may necessitate the removal of fence posts and/or panels, the dismantling of an air conditioner, or the demolition of structures. Most excavating machinery need at least a 6-foot wide access path. Prior to the start of the project, trees, structures, and other backyard items must be removed from the area where the pool will be constructed.
Step 3 – Dig Day (1-2days)
The loudest and most chaotic day of construction is dig day, but given the weather and access to your yard, a well-organized crew can usually accomplish this procedure in one to two days. Your swimming pool kit, which includes all of your pool’s supplies, will usually be delivered and kept on site in your garage or yard on the same day.
Step 4: Structural Steel
After the completion of the excavation of the pool area, pool contractors will begin assembling the steel structural rebar skeleton of your inground pool. Using high strength steel rods, workers will assemble a cage for the gunite to adhere to and create a high strength pool shell that will last decades.
Step 5 – Gunite
At this stage of pool construction, the inground pool is ready for the installation of it’s concrete shell. Workers will shoot high velocity concrete material called Gunite from a high pressure hose. The material will then be formed and shaped, shoveled and troweled evenly to form a perfect concrete shell for the pool walls and floor. There is also a curing process during which the concrete material can properly harden to the required PSI strength.
Step 6 – Plumbing & Electrical
We begin installing the pool lights, piping, and essential grounding after the pool walls are in place. All underground plumbing is pressure checked after completion to verify there are no leaks. Where necessary, a dry well is installed.
Step 7 – Pool Coping & Surround
The project has been turned over to our landscape staff to instal the pool coping and interlocking stone now that the majority of the pool has been installed. This section of the project can take a long time to complete depending on the magnitude of the project, but it may include fencing, pool cabanas, outdoor kitchens, or other structures that are in keeping with the pool and landscape design.
Step 8 – Pool Equipment
At this stage we will assemble all of the pool equipment components that will operate your inground pool. Pool contractors will begin connecting your sanitization system, pool pump, heater, and all of the other various components that filtrate and circulate water around the pool. Pool lighting and any equipment electrical fuse boxes or circuit breakers are typically installed during this phase as well.
Step 9 – Pool Interior
At this phase, the pool is ready for it’s interior. Homeowners have a variety of options to choose from when selecting a pool interior. The one they ultimately wind up choosing is often predicated upon their desired finish and budget they have allocated towards the project. Workers will begin installing either a plaster, pebble, or tile interior depending on the tastes and budget of the client.
Step 10-Final Hook-up & Pool School
We can now finish all of the remaining plumbing and electrical installations once the pool is filled. We can handle the first start up and get the pool going if all power and natural gas have been delivered to the equipment, so you and your family may enjoy the pool right away. Pool school should be completed within a day or two of the pool opening.
